Only One Teams Exploratory License is Being Digested into Microsoft Office 365
Last Updated:
Overview
The Microsoft Teams Exploratory experience lets users in the O365 organization who have Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and are not licensed for Teams initiate an exploratory experience of Teams.
Applies To
- Microsoft Office 365 (O365)
- Azure AD
- License Provisioning
- Teams Licenses
Cause
As mentioned in the How long does the Teams Exploratory experience last article, Teams Exploratory was available as a 12-month subscription (from initial user sign-up) for all new Microsoft customers who purchased an O365 package. The license is currently being deprecated due to the end of the validity period of the offer.
Solution
At the end of the 12-month subscription, administrators should convert all Teams Exploratory users to a paid license that includes Teams. This action must be completed before the Teams Exploratory subscription expires to avoid disrupting the user's experience.
