Solution

There are a few methods that can be used to filter applications by type.

The first option is detailed below, and it consists of adding the authentication method (SAML, SWA, OIDC, etc) in the name of the applications.

  1. Manually identify each application and append the application label with the application type.
  2. For example, if the application type is SAML and the application name is Tableau, modify the application label to be: Tableau (SAML).
  3. Do this for all applications, then search by application type by using the appended search strings: SAML, Bookmark, SWA.

Another option is to use the User App Access built-in report available in the Okta Admin Console. To use it to filter apps by Sign In method, please follow the steps below:

  1. In the Okta Admin Console, locate the Reports tab and open the drop-down menu.
  2. Click on Reports, look for the User App Access report, and open it.

Reports

  1. Edit the filters for the report by clicking the Edit filters button, and add the following filters: Application catalog name, Application name, Application username, Sign On Mode.

Edit Filters
