Webpages keep turning into dashboard?

Im sorry if this is in the wrong category, I wasn't really sure which one to pick from the dropdown and it kept closing on me as I scrolled through all the options...

Anyways, here is my issue and I would seriously, Seriously!! appreciate any help please!! :

How do I stop the apps I have open in other tabs, turning into the dashboard? It keeps happening and I don't understand why this is? My Apps Dashboard | choicehotels is the link and, "https://choicehotels.okta.com/app/UserHome" is the url.

This url: "https://www.choiceadvantage.com/choicehotels/Welcome.init" Is the webpage (app) that I am needing to be logged into for my job. But it keeps logging me out (Even though I have stay logged in checked) and I end up with a second tab for okta.

Please please advise on how to stop this!!!!

Also I keep having to log back into Okta even though I, once again, have the stay logged in box set to keep me logged in.

Hello @PatriciaI.16621 (Customer) Thank you for posting on our Community page!

You are experiencing two related issues: your application is redirecting you back to the Okta dashboard when your session times out, and you are being asked to log back into Okta repeatedly even though you have "stay logged in" enabled. Both of these are typically caused by session timeout policies and browser cookie settings.

    Root Cause:

When you access an application through Okta Single Sign-On (SSO), your session is managed by Okta's session policies. If your Okta session expires or if the application session times out separately, Okta redirects you to its sign-in page. If you then remain inactive on that sign-in page, Okta's inactivity timeout kicks in and you lose your Okta session entirely, which is why you end up on the dashboard. The "stay logged in" option relies on device tokens and persistent cookies, which can be blocked or cleared by browser settings, security policies, or corrupted cache.

    Solution:

Follow these steps to resolve both issues:

    1. Clear your browser cache and cookies — Corrupted cookies can prevent Okta from recognizing your device and maintaining your session. Clear all browser data for the Okta domain (choicehotels.okta.com) and the application domain (choiceadvantage.com).
    2. Check your browser's cross-site tracking setting — If you are using Safari, go to Preferences → Privacy and uncheck Prevent cross-site tracking. This setting can block Okta's device recognition and session persistence. Other browsers may have similar privacy settings that interfere with session cookies.
    3. Verify your organization's session policies — Your company's Okta administrator may have configured aggressive session timeout policies. Ask your IT department or Okta administrator to review the session lifetime settings in Admin Console → Security → Authentication Policies to ensure they are not set too short for your workflow.
    4. Check for company security policies — Your organization may have policies that require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on every sign-in, which would override the "stay logged in" setting. Confirm with your IT department whether this is in effect.
