  • Hi @HeatherG.18045 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

For security reasons you'll need to use an alternative option (ex. SMS, Google Authenticator, Yubikey etc) to sign into your Okta account and re-enroll the device. Please review the following guide:

    iOS: https://help.okta.com/eu/en-us/content/topics/end-user/ov-ios-restore-same-device.htm

If you do not have an alternative option, please reach out to the company's or service provider's IT support or Help Desk so they can help you re-enroll the device and provide further assistance. They will need to reset your MFA and this will trigger a new enrollment flow.

While Okta provides the Product (Okta Verify app), individual account management is handled by your company or service provider at tenant level.

For more information on how to use Okta Verify, please visit:

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!

Hi, Mihai - thank you but there is no where for me to even sign in to the Okta Verify account. The only option it gives me is to bluetooth the account.

  • IsaacB.81593 (Customer)

Okta Verify does not transfer from phone to phone (or computer to computer) when you use your phone's transfer utilities. It can be copied from phone to phone in some cases...but in your case, your old phone is wiped, so you can't.

    • If you have another authenticator set up on your account, select another authentication method when you sign in. Depending on how your Okta is configured, you'll see a small toggle or a link that says "authenticate with something else."
    • If you do not have another authenticator, ask an admin in your organization to reset your authenticator.
    • If you are your organization's admin and no one else can help you, contact your account rep.

    Additional thoughts:

    • It's best to add your new phone before you wipe out your old phone.
    • Okta's account management policies may block an admin from signing in if they have no authenticators enrolled. In that case, have another admin in your organization revoke your admin privilege when they reset your authenticators. Then sign in and enroll. Then you can get your admin privileges restored.
