Assigning users to groups

I have created a new group(GVGAdmin) and when I go to add new users from my list, it only shows some of the people in the company, not the entire list.

  • Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

Barring any kind of permission/resource assignment limitation (for example if you are a group admin), the "assign people to group" page will display a limited number of users. Don't quote me on this, but I assume it was designed like this due to performance considerations.

You can leverage the search bar for specific users, the advance search for filters and under more actions you have the "assign people with csv import" and "assign all people in org" options.

Beyond that you can look into leveraging the Group Rules feature for a measure of automation.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!

If your list is large, you can also add your users using a CSV file.

Open your group and click on Assign People (in the right hand corner), then More Actions (same right hand corner), then Assign people with CSV import. Prepare your file by downloading the template on the Assign people with CSV import and putting all your users usernames or login in column A.
