What is the Propagation Period for Group Membership To Push to 3rd Party Applications?
If you use an application group from a iDP platform like Google/Okta/Azure and push the group from Okta to a 3rd party application, how long should I need to wait before seeing the membership of that group populate in the new 3rd party application? And for the sake of ruling out variables, let's assume we already know that the user membership of the group being pushed also have an account on that 3rd party application
It should be very quick and you can look at the timestamps in the logs. If you go under the application and look at the "push groups" tab. You can see it happen live and will give you a success when complete.
Harry is right, it should be very quick, but if you are not seeing the membership updated, I've broken the connection and re-added it
Click on actions next to the group and "Unlink pushed group", but "Leave the group in the Target app"
Its pretty instantaneous. If youre not seeing it then check the syslog and then confirm the user in question is assigned to both the push group group and assigned to the SCIM app in okta. also keep in mind that okta doesnt support using push group and assignment group all in one. Ideally the user should be assigned the app first then be assigned the push group 2nd
