Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way, either automatically or via API to trigger updating app usernames in Okta for apps that do not fully meet the criteria required for - https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/Application-Usernames-are-not-being-updated-automatically
Specifically apps that are not provisioned automatically but are using SAML for login.
We sometimes need to update user's email addresses, and are having to go to each app and hit the 'Update Now' button for each of these apps in order to update the usernames for the apps. All the apps are set to update on 'create and update'.
If this isn't something that can be done currently, can it be proposed as a feature request.

Hi @DanR.06554 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!
This has been requested in the past but unfortunately never really got traction to be implemented as a out-of-the-box feature.
You can suggest it as a Feature Enhancement on the Okta Community page by going to the Community→ Ideas tab. Features suggested in our community are reviewed and can be voted and commented on by other members. High popularity will increase the likelihood of it being picked up by the Product Team and it being implemented.
More details here.
You might be able to achieve an automation via Okta Workflows in conjunction with Okta API by leveraging an event trigger like "User Updated" then update the app username values.
For specifics, you might need to get help from Workflows specialists during weekly community office hours.
Or if you have an account with us, open a case to discuss the matter with our Okta Support team. That being said, design implementation might fall in the realm of Professional Services.
If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.
Hope my answer helps!
