Hey everyone,
I’m setting up a wireless authentication system where users authenticate using Okta credentials. I’ve configured the Okta RADIUS app and Okta RADIUS agent to work with our Meraki wireless network, but I’m running into a few issues and could use some help from the community.
Here’s where I need help:
1. Okta RADIUS Agent with Meraki Wireless:
Has anyone successfully used the Okta RADIUS agent to authenticate Meraki wireless clients? If so, are there any specific Meraki configurations or Okta settings I need to be aware of?
2. Authentication Issues:
I’ve set up PAP and the splash page in Meraki, but I’m having trouble getting wireless clients to authenticate. I’ve tested the connection from the server using NTRadiPing, and it successfully authenticates. However, the wireless connection still fails. Any ideas on what might be causing the issue or what I might have missed?
3. EAP-TTLS Support:
Is EAP-TTLS supported by the Okta RADIUS agent? If so, could anyone share information or steps on how to implement it? Additionally, is there any service or tool provided by Okta that can make implementing EAP-TTLS easier with the Okta RADIUS agent?
4. Error Message in Logs:
I’m seeing this error in the Okta RADIUS logs:
ERROR - malformed RADIUS packet. Exception message: Access-Request: User-Password or CHAP-Password/CHAP-Challenge missing
Could this be related to Meraki settings, or something with my RADIUS app/agent configuration?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

EAP-TTLS is supported, but your tenant might not have the required features enabled.
Something like this was discussed in an older post.
If you have a paid production/developer account with us, please leverage it to open a case via the support.okta.com site or call the support line (Customer Support Account ID number required) so our Okta Support colleagues can review the matter. If for whatever reason those options are not available for you, please contact your Okta Account Executive or Customer Success Manager, and they will be able to engage the Support team on your behalf.
