emv35 (emv35) asked a question.

Okta Verify transfer from iphone to another for MFA and prompt

I have an old iPhone that has a bunch of okta Verify accounts on it, and I would like to see how I can get them on my new iPhone. Same phone number / account (me) yet when I get a prompt, it goes to the OLD phone. I am an admin (not THEE admin) in Okta, yet I am struggling. I don't know how to get a prompt for a QR code if possible to grab and remove the old accounts on the old phone.

I can't be the only one who has this issue. The issue is how do I get a prompt on the NEW phone. It all goes to the OLD phone.

Hello @emv35 (emv35) , thank you for contacting Okta Community.

If you still have the old device, you can look into adding the account from there via the “add your Okta account to another device option”.  Details here:

    For iOS:

    https://help.okta.com/eu/en-us/content/topics/end-user/ov-ios-add-acc-bluetooth.htm

    For Android:

    https://help.okta.com/eu/en-us/content/topics/end-user/ov-andr-add-acc-bluetooth.htm

Otherwise, for security reasons, you'll need to use an alternative option to sign into your Okta account and enroll the new device.

If you do not have an alternative option, please reach out to the company's or service provider's  IT support or Help Desk so they can help you enroll a new device and provide further assistance. Alternatively, if there is another admin in your org with access to the Admin Console, please reach out to them. They will need to reset your MFA and this will trigger a new enrollment flow.

*Please note that if you are a Super Admin for an org, only another Super Admin can reset your factors.

    Regards.

Where do I go to get to FastPass? (iOS / iPhone)

      • You must have Okta FastPass enabled in your Okta Verify account.

      1. Tap or click your account.
        1. Where am I clicking? Red arrow, dashed red arrow, green sashed arrow? I don't now where my account is.
        2. Image is not available

On the three dots, the red dashed arrow, I see settings, and only have thee, feedback, device health, help sign in notifications, about (version 9.36.0.2025.221.1627), join beta. I don't see the account information.

  • In your admin console, under authenticators (Okta Verify) you should have Fastpass checkbox checked/enabled.

Then you can enable user for fastpass. Hope this answers your question

Unfortunately I am not certain where the Fastpass checkbox is.

  • if you are merely trying to validate you can click on Okta Verify Entry/profile (on your device) and that will tell you if fastpass is enabled for that account

  • Matthew, Login to your console as admin, on left hand pane go under Security .. Go under authenticators_>Okta Verify (edit) -> then you will see screen to enable fastpass

(Fastpass is an option on Okta Verify in Admin console ) .. After you enable this , try to access okta dashboard and you will see an option to login via fast pass

I see Security, Authentication, but no other Fastpass that you refer to. Maybe my account doesn't have that option. My colleague had to setup the drop down to redo MFA for my account, and I don't know why I didn't have it. Again, maybe I don't have all of the permissions.
