How to Reset my MFA as the one Super Administrator in my organization

I keep getting an error :

/help/servlet/rtaImage?refid=0EM4z000008eVaz

I am the one Super Administrator still working at the company and wanted to reset my MFA - partly to help write documentation with the steps involved after a non-technical end user had trouble earlier today.

In addition, I can't see records in the System log with further information about the permission restrictions stopping my action.

Please advise.

Hello @User17401616264303788688 (Customer) , thank you for contacting Okta Community.

You cannot reset your own MFA from the Admin Console. You can add or remove a factor from your End User Dashboard > Settings > Security Methods/Extra Verification - this route is available to all accounts, regardless of admin permissions.

We recommend that at least two Super Admin accounts be set up for every org. This way, if one becomes locked out for whatever reason, the second can be used to gain access to the Admin console of the org. This is relevant because only a Super Admin can reset the MFA of another Super Admin. Any lower-level Admin won't be able to reset the MFA (or credentials) of a Super Admin.

You could also set up a test user. You could use it to experiment with different scenarios and resets without the risk of getting locked out, especially as the only Super Admin.

Keep in mind that once all access to an org's Admin Console is lost, the only way to regain it is through a Support ticket. This feature is only available to paid accounts.

    Regards.
