xrtw0 (xrtw0) asked a question.

Okta Verify is asking for Okta Verify - I am stuck

Got a new phone - didn't migrate everything over in the purchase. Now when I am trying to set up okta verify on the new phone, the push notification is getting sent to a non-existent phone (my old phone that has been erased). I have tried removing the device - and forcing to set up another, but when I try to remove it, it send the push notification to the void again. I am caught in a loop, my admin is out for another week. Please help.

Hi @xrtw0 (xrtw0) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

If you no longer have the old phone with a valid Okta Verify enrollment, for security reasons you'll need to use an alternative option (ex. SMS, Google Authenticator, Yubikey etc) to sign into your Okta account and enroll the new device. If you do not have an alternative option, please reach out to the company's or service provider's IT support or Help Desk so they can help you re-enroll the device and provide further assistance. They will need to reset your MFA and this will trigger a new enrollment flow.

While Okta provides the Product (Okta Verify app), individual account management is handled by your company or service provider.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
