a3n2a (a3n2a) asked a question.

Super Admin Access when existing super admin leaves the company

Hi everyone,

I am in an Okta dev account, and I want super admin access. The person who was a super admin has left the company. How can I or someone on my team be added to this account?

Thank you!

Hello @a3n2a (a3n2a) , thank you for contacting Okta Community.

Only a Super Admin account can give another account Super Admin rights. Ideally, before a company's only Super Admin account holder is terminated from the system, another Super Admin account is created.

Another option is to have the Super Admin account be a company account (as opposed to an individual account) that can then be entrusted to somebody else (a password reset may be needed).

We also recommend that every org have at least two Super Admin accounts.

This being said, if you have a paid production account with us, please leverage it to open a case via the support.okta.com site or call the support line.

If you have a paid account and encounter issues opening a ticket, please contact your Okta Account Executive or Customer Success Manager. They will be able to engage the Support team on your behalf.

If no paid developer or production account is available, the only option left is to sign up for a new free trial or developer account.

    Regards.
