Unable to access dev site with any account, admin or not.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? I can't access my dev instance with any of the super admin accounts. They all get this error:

Sign In Denied

You do not have permission to access your account at this time. If you're wondering why this is happening, please contact your administrator.

/help/servlet/rtaImage?refid=0EM4z000008eQml

This was working just fine less than 24 hours ago.

Tried looking around and most of the search results that came up were about the 403 forbidden. access denied for application access.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    • Thanks I have sent an email to that alias and provided the requested info. If there is anything else you would like me to provide, please let me know.

      • Yes, I was able to get help from Diana with a support ticket opened on my behalf. They were able to assist with granting me temp access to the site in order to configure MFA.

Hello @User17321403140758877648 (Customer) , thank you for contacting Okta Community.

The error points towards an authentication policy which may or may not be misconfigured.

In alignment with the Okta Secure Identity Commitment, Okta is requiring customers to use multifactor authentication (MFA) to access their Okta Admin Console. MFA is an effective tool to protect against identity attacks.

We are in the process of rolling this out and you should expect that this will be completed in Q4.

The MFA will be required in all orgs, and no admins will be exempted.

We recommend reviewing the Frequently Asked Questions article on this subject.

If you have a paid account with us, please leverage it to open a case via the support.okta.com site or call the support line so our colleagues can investigate and confirm if the issue is related.

If for whatever reason those options are not available for you, please contact your Okta Account Executive or Customer Success Manager, and they will be able to engage the Support team on your behalf.

If no paid developer or production account is available, the only option left is to sign up for a new free trial or developer account.

      Regards.

      • In the name of all of us tossed away from our preview account, I understand that you guys were moving foward and have a duty to honor, but I can also tell you that my desire to integrate/propagate Okta in our products dropped a notch because the way it was made.

Never i've seen a mail "action required mail" warning me I would get tossed away, yet the toss is real.

I'm still hesitating to drop totally Okta or try to re-create a complex free account by reverse engineering its complex integration in our development instances. I would have appreciate if we would have at least the option to updrade to the paid version or pay a service fee to get us out of this dead end.

Thank you for the friendly solution proposed, and I wish you the best for this solid, rigid and secured future.

        Cheers

        Hello @00uhx339fskDqMQz70h1.5434600663360002E12 (Customer) ,

I understand this is frustrating and impacting your experience with Okta.

I believe you could use a paid account to request assistance for the free account. However, that is a discussion you should have with our Sales team. They would have more details regarding the transition and can help you navigate it if you become a paying customer.

        Regards.

      • Thank you Diana for proposing this suggestion, It seem the closest to a solution I've ever been proposed since I'm locked out of the Admin Console. I never tough that the preview account could be considered an extension of a paid account and then maybe fixed and supported.

I'll make sure to let the decision makers know about this possible solution.

        This situation is indeed frustrating.

When I logged into this help center I was kindly proposed to activated MFA, I just think the preview account should have had the same kind MFA activation/transition for the last year to make sure keep everybody onboard and Okta a friendly effective and secured business.

I guess the surprise kick out sure took a few trash out !

        Have a good day,

        Sebastien

      • Hello Diana,

I've tried to have a look to get the paid products,

Could you confirm to me that the minimal cost for Okta is 1500$ per year?

Also, I looked at Auth0 products, there is one subscription for around 35$ a month, with no engagement but I'm scared if I get Auth0 I still wouldn't get help with the preview account since it's a different product and different support team...

If only "developers@okta.com" could give me a hand to log in like they did for some users...

I wrote to developers@okta.com 15 novembre 2024, no answer exept that a ticket was made [redacted by moderator].

If you could ever tell "developers@okta.com" to have a look at my case [redacted by moderator], I would be ready to collaborate with them. Also, by the way, we are using OKTA Preview to support one of your biggest active Canadian customer.... I'm sure if you would know which one it is, you would help me right away. I wont communicate those details here and I don't want to bother them to make a ticket for us (this won't be good for our relations) but if I'm ever on the phone with an agent I would gladly give them information about the paid customer we are using OKTA for...

With all this said, I would really appreciate someone helping me to gain access with a temporary window... so I could fix the issues with our account.

Thank you Diana for trying to help us out.
