kz69e (kz69e) asked a question.
We want to setup a site on SharePoint in our Microsoft 365 tenant to share videos with a select audience of internal and external users.
- Internal users - Belong to a specific Active Directory group and have a Microsoft 365 license
- External users - manually setup in Okta, no Microsoft 365 license
Here's how we need it to flow:
- User goes to Internet facing URL
- User hits Okta authentication page
- Internal user authenticates via SSO from our Microsoft 365 tenant
- External user enters username/password assigned to manually setup Okta user
- User is passed on to our tube site
We have currently something similar setup, but with a separate service hosting the content. We'd like to move to our SharePoint and save the extra cost of the external content hosting.
Any help much appreciated.

Hi @kz69e (kz69e) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!
I was unable to locate an explicit guide for this, but the following resources seem to suggest that this is possible:
https://support.okta.com/help/s/question/0D50Z00008G7UymSAF/sharepoint-online-with-okta-and-external-users?language=en_US
https://www.okta.com/sites/default/files/pdf/Datasheet_Identity_Sharepoint_Portals_1.pdf
If you have an account with us, I recommend opening a case to go over things with my colleagues from the Support Team.
If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.
Hope my answer helps!
