Workday Import is not working as expected for an existing okta user

Hi everyone,

I work as an helpdesk and we are currently dealing with an Workday and Okta link up issue for and existing employee. This employee had changed their name recently and while writing back the email to workday it broke the link between the okta and workday. There have been multiple full imports and I have already tried this solution but no success https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/workday-assignment-error-username-xxxx-not-found-import-from-workday-first?language=en_US

Also came across this article https://support.okta.com/help/s/article/if-a-user-is-manually-unassigned-from-workday-the-incremental-import-will-not-link-it-back?language=en_US and we ensured dates and all the required fields have correct data in the workday but this still has not helped.

I have already seen this in the case of few users and just wondering if any one know the solution or we are missing something here.

Thank you in advance

Hello @ManvirD.05121 (Customer) Thank you for reacting out to our Community!

This might a bit radical but if the above do not work at all, have you taken in consideration to delete the user from Okta and re-import him back? If nothing links the user back, a removal and fresh import might do the trick.

Before doing so, I would also recommend to open a case with Support. Maybe there is something our engineering team could do from the back end. Also they will be able to review out back-end logs which might have additional details on the issue at hand.

Hi Paul, Thank you so much for taking some time to look into this.

At the moment, I am trying to resolve it without deactivating the team member in the Okta as we have few manual assignments and some downstream applications where we would end up with manual tasks of deactivating/reactivating the accounts.

I will contact the HRIS team to see if they can assist on this.

    Thank you again,

    Manvir
