I'm getting Invalid property middleName in expression when I try to create a custom email attribute.
This value is set up on the user's profiles.
I have even tried to use other attributes, such as from Workday

In the expression that you are trying to create are you using "middleName" or "user.middleName"? The reason for the failure could be a misconfiguration on the expression and also make sure that you have "user." or "appuser." before any attribute.
