egxxj (egxxj) asked a question.

Accessing Link Investor Centre: registering new phone

Hello

I have a new phone, and on it, I am (by default) logged out of Okta. I use it to get into Link Investor Centre.

I've gone through the forum but i cant figure out how to log back in. What can i do?

I don't have access to my old phone anymore.

    Hi, @egxxj (egxxj)

Thank you for posting on our Community page!

In essence, for security reasons Okta Verify can only be bound to one device at a time and can only be re-enrolled through self-service once you are signed in or with the help of your company's IT Support who handle your account. You'll need to use an alternative option to sign into your Okta account and enroll the device.

If you do not have an alternative option, please reach out to the company's or service provider's IT support or Help Desk so they can help you enroll a new device and provide further assistance.

While Okta provides the Product (Okta Verify app), individual account management is handled by your company or service provider.

Thank you for reaching out to our Community and have a great day!

Thanks Laura. The thing is though, I’m not trying to sign into my work, I’m trying to sign into link market services, to manage share portfolios. So most of what you’re saying doesn’t apply to me i think. I don’t understand why this is so complicated?

        Hi, @egxxj (egxxj)

It is designed to be a security feature to prevent bad actors intervening once you, let’s say, lose your phone. In order to enrol a new device without access to the old one, you will need either a QR code or to know the sign-in URL for the specific Service Provider. I recommend you get in touch with their support to assist you with enrolling a new device.

I’m very sorry for the inconvenience.
