utgdt (utgdt) asked a question.

Please Help

In need of technical support. I recently received a new work phone and in order to access my emails it is linked to my old phone for 2 factor authentication. I am in need to reset Okta Verify and pair it with my new phone. I am at a crossroad right now. I can't do anything and can't access my work email. Is there a phone number or agent I can talk to? I was not able to open a case because of my privileges.

I also tried to remove my device and follow the knowledge article but it does not work. When following the steps it took my password but didnt remove my old device from okta verify and asked to enter a code or get a push notification from okta verify which I can't receive because it's going to an old work device which I no longer have.

  • Hi @utgdt (utgdt) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

In essence, for security reasons you'll need to use an alternative option to sign into your Okta account and enroll the new device. If you do not have an alternative option, please reach out to the company's or service provider's IT support or Help Desk so they can help you enroll a new device and provide further assistance. They will need to reset your MFA and this will trigger a new enrollment flow.

While Okta provides the Product (Okta Verify app), individual account management is handled by your company or service provider.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
