esrqy (esrqy) asked a question.

Will Slack policy update be affecting our company 2FA and SSO settings?

Dear Support,

I have recently received this message from Slack, it is about their policy changes that will enforce Single Sign On for their platform.

I am worndering if this will make changes in our extisting way to access via Okta using SAML Single Sign-On method with Multi-factor authentication.

In attachment the received email:

"We are contacting you to let you know that beginning September 26, 2023, owners and admins on Slack paid plans will be required to set up two-factor authentication. Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring an authentication code from your phone whenever you sign in. On paid plans with SSO enabled, only owners and admins who are able to sign in via email and password will be required to set up 2FA.

Our records indicate that you haven’t set up 2FA for your account on E-Flux. Please take the time to do that now by following the instructions here in our Help Center: https://slack.com/help/articles/204509068.

If by September 26th you have not set up 2FA, you may be signed out of your account and asked to set it up and configure your 2FA settings at https://my.slack.com/account/settings*two_factor before being able to sign in to your workspace or org. If signed in to more than one workspace, please click “Workspaces” at the top of your account settings page and select the workspace that needs 2FA set-up.

If you have any questions about setting up two-factor authentication or need assistance, you can reply directly to this email or contact us at feedback@slack.com and we'll be happy to help!

Thanks,

The team at Slack
