I am trying to acheive progressive enrollment using Okta.

As a Okta Admin in Okta Identity Engine, I wanted to ask the User to input certain fields such as Badge Id, Role etc, accessing a Salesforce app which is integrated app in Okta. Key is I dont want Okta to store the Id attribute.

I have followed the below steps:

  1. Created a custom attribute in Okta Profile
  2. Created a Profile Enrollment policy and added Badge ID to the attributes in input form.
  3. Self-service registration = Enabled
  4. Use the following inline hook = None
  5. Added the Profile Enrollment Policy to my Salesforce App

Testing: Tried logging in as a different user and accessed the Salesforce App from Dashboard. Okta asked the User to input Badge Id and Role attributes at the same time. User (Me) inputted the attributes and can access the app.

Okta stored both attibutes on User Profile of logged User.

My requirement is Okta should not store the Attibute value but send to an external system.

How to acheive Progressive Enrollment, what are the steps involved?

Please help on this scenario. Suggestions are appreciated!

Thank you in advance

Hi @User16881006668974367565 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

This type of implementation is not currently supported. Profile enrollment will automatically add the information the Okta User Profile.

If you are looking to see something like this in Okta, you can suggest a Feature Enhancement on the Okta Community page by going to the Community→ Ideas tab. Features suggested in our community are reviewed and can be voted and commented on by other members. High popularity will increase the likelihood of it being picked up by the Product Team and it being implemented.

    More details here.

If my answer helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
