hxwiy (hxwiy) asked a question.

Does OAG integrated application which is header based ask password while logging into it

Currently I have issue with one application. I integrated one application okta which I took reference as existing one as app team is migrating to 2019 servers. SO I integrated one OAG header based application. When app team trying to access both the applications in new browsers, new one is asking for password where as old one is not asking password. Can anyone help me on this.

Note: Both apps have same configuration except backend and frontend server details.

  • Hi @hxwiy (hxwiy) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!

I've checked with my OAG colleagues and based on the following documentation:

https://help.okta.com/oag/en-us/Content/Topics/Access-Gateway/add-generic-header-app.htm - If there is no active session OAG will redirect to Okta to authenticate i.e. ask for password. Once an OAG session is create then OAG will provide access to the protected resource.

Depending on what your application requirements are, you may need to configure certain headers.

If this doc does not answer clarify the situation, please open a case to discuss the matter with one of our Support Engineers.

If my answers helped, remember to mark it as best to increase its visibility for other members of the Okta Community who might have the same questions as you.

    Hope my answer helps!
