Group mapping lost when removing group from Salesforce application using rest api

I have a test Salesforce application that has three groups. Using the Okta apps rest api, I removed the groups from the application, then added them back using the api. After adding the groups back to the Salesforce application, I noticed that all the mapping had been removed from the groups. Is this the expected behavior?

    Hello @VincentJ.85935 (Customer)​  Thank you for reacting out to our Community!

     

    This would be expected behaviour as the mapping has been done when the group has been added in the UI. If through API this detail was not specify then the mapping has remained blank, hence no mapping added to the group further on.
