    Hi! Thanks for reaching out to the community! A service account is merely an Okta or application managed account that has a dedicated, operational purpose. As described in your article, it is typically for a single purpose with limited scope and access is highly protected. Typically passwords for these accounts are stored in vaults such as LastPass for safe keeping.
