Testing with O365 federation and users in multiple domains

Just getting started and am looking to set up federation with the O365 domain(s). I understand that federation is all or nothing, but I want to test things out (and document!) the new login process before throwing real users at it. All existing users are members of multiple O365 domains (eg mycompany.com, mynewcompany.com, myoldcompany.com, etc) in addition to the .onmicrosoft.com domain. If I federate and only select the myoldcompany.com domain, does that mean that Jon.Smith@mycompany.com will not get redirected to Okta, but Jon.Smith@myoldcompany.com will?

    Basically, the answer is yes, only the selected domains will get redirected for authentication.
