7eqs0 (7eqs0) asked a question.

Okta provisioning into Azure Active Directory

Hi there,

I am new to Okta. I was wondering what the best way is to integrate my Azure AD into Okta?

I want to only use Okta to provision and deprovision users in Azure AD. All the integration documentation I've found to date appears to do the opposite.

Needed:

Okta -- (new user) --> Azure AD

I have no interest in brining in any of the Azure AD existing users.

Any assistance or pointing in the correct direction would be much appreciated.

    Hi Cian Byrne ,

To provision users from okta to AD you can follow the below steps:

    1. In the Admin Console, go to Directory > Directory Integrations.
    2. Click Active Directory and then click the Provisioning tab.
    3. Click To App in the Settings list and click Edit in the Provisioning to App section.
    4. Click the Enable check box for Create Users.
    5. In the Activation email recipient field, enter the email address of the Okta admin who receives activation emails with the Okta user's password. The admin is responsible for giving the end user their Okta password.
    6. In the AD username format list, select the format for the AD username:
    7. Click Enable for Update User Attributes to update a user's attributes in AD when an app is assigned.
    8. Select the Update OU when the group that provisions a user to AD changes check box to update an Okta-sourced user's organizational unit (OU) when the group that provisions a user to AD changes.
    9. Click Enable next to Deactivate Users to deactivate a user's AD account when it is unassigned in Okta or their Okta account is deactivated.
    10. Click Enable next to Sync Password to make a user's AD password the same as their Okta password.
    11. Click Save.

@7eqs0 (7eqs0) Thank you for reacting out to our Community!

This should be achieved with the Office 365 application and the provisioning part of it.

Please see the documentation below that should provide the necessary guidance to set up the application in Okta:
