Changing password expiration and configuring prompt user warning.

Hi,

We would like to update the password policy to make password expires after 120 days.

From what I can find on this help center, is that the 120 days starts counting since the users last changed their password.

So for example, if my account is created on the 5th December 2022 and I enable the password expire on 20th December 2022. I believe my password will expire on the 5th June 2023?

Will there be any reminder email or on screen prompt to the user without the "Prompt user xx days before password expires" setting enabled? Will it be an email notification or an on screen prompt? If it is an email, is there anyway we can customise the email? If it is an on screen prompt, how does the user set a new password?

Thanks

Jennifer

Users can change their password at any time by going into their account Settings from the dashboard.

If you have configured the password policy to prompt the user XX days before their password expires, Okta will also prompt them to change it right there in the sign-in widget after they've successfully authenticated.

  • Thanks, Mike!

We are using the custom style for embedded authentication, do you know if the prompt will appear?
