Unable to login with correct password after initial wrong password

At least one of our users has noticed that they're unable to login to an application with their correct password after an initial attempt with an incorrect password. I.e. if you login and supply the wrong password, subsequent attempts to login with the correct password will fail using the same login window.

If you refresh the window (i.e. you don't use the same login window as the one used for the initial failure you're able to login with correct credentials.

As this is unexpected behaviour people are at risk of locking their accounts unless they're aware of this quirk.

Hey thanks for the question! Curious, when these users are logging into the target application, I assume you are not referencing the Okta login screen? But rather an individual application that is not using SAML/OIDC? Just wanted to clarify this. Thanks!

Sorry, I replied to this, but I can't see the reply here. We're talking about the OKTA login screen (the applicationn redirects to this page on initial login) and the application does use SAML.

Ah, so when navigating directly to SP, incorrect passwords will lock out the account? Have you contacted either party support and inquired about this behavior or do the logs reveal anything to you? I have ran into some 3rd party applications that may need particular settings applied for their specific use cases.

Also, is this a commercial or internally developed application?
