RyanS.58278 (Customer) asked a question.
Does anyone know of a way to prevent or bypass the "Your session has expired" message and just go directly to the sign-in widget when a users session times out?
As it is now when a user's session times out their browser stays on their dashboard with the message "Your session has expired", "Please login again to continue using your dashboard" and a button to take the user to the sign-in page. This is all well and good for users that login with their username and password, but we use Desktop Single Sign-On for most of our users and they generally never even see the sign-in widget when logging in.
Years ago when a user's session timed out, they were taken directly to the sign-in widget without any message requiring them to click on a button. This meant that for DSSO users, when their session timed out, they were taken to the sign-in widget, DSSO took place and they were taken directly back to their dashboard without any interaction from them. For them the experience was as if their sessions never timed out, their dashboard was always available when they went to it. Now when their session times out, they get the session expired message and have to click a button before DSSO kicks in and they are logged in.
It's not a big deal, but the solution shouldn't be a big deal either. If there were some way to have users go directly to the sign-in widget when their session times out rather than having the message pop up, DSSO users would always remain logged in.
Thanks,

Hi @RyanS.58278 (Customer),
Thank you for posting on the Okta community page!
I have done some research but unfortunately I wasn't able to find a way in which you could bypass the "Your session has expired" message, therefore I assume that you could submit a feature request in case you would like to see such functionality. The best way to file a feature request would be from the community site.
Once feature requests are submitted they are visible to other Okta admins, who can vote on them to provide more visibility. Using this method will allow you to maintain visibility on your feature requests throughout the process.
