VladyslavS.60028 (Customer) asked a question.
Hello.
My name is Vlad. The organization where I work uses Okta.
We already have some applications that can connect to Okta, but some are not.
I want my organization (Okta admin Users) to add different applications and subscriptions (for example, Adobe or Microsoft licenses).
I see this system in this way:
- An employee from my organization requests access/license to some applications.
- I(okta_admin@mail.com) open his profile in Admin Okata with their application and assign that application in the same way as I already do with apps which already connected to Okta.
- If an employee has requested a license or application which doesn't have API that we can't connect to Okta:
--> name of this application with a homepage link is added to his profile in Okta.
--> in the same time, this app assignment automatically creates a Ticket in Jira for that team_member who can give access to that app or share a license.
In other words:
user_1@mail.com requested access to the application (that we can't add to Okta via API)
okta_admin@mail.com goes to the Okta admin panel and assigns that app.
Okta automatically creates a Ticket (for example, in Jira) for admin_of_some_application@mail.com after what - he manually assigns that app to user_1@mail.com
user_1@mail.com sees that app in his profile in Okta as another app connected via CCO.
Required:
- A list of applications will be created manually by okta_admin@mail.com.
- When adding, each application needs to have the possibility to add: Name, Logo, and link to the main page and others.
I hope you understand what I need. I would appreciate it if you describe the entire flow step by step.
Regards, Vlad

Hello @VladyslavS.60028 (Customer) Thank you for reacting out to our Community!
For application requests you might want to check this doc as it simplifies application requests
https://help.okta.com/en-us/Content/Topics/Apps/apps-selfservice-configureorg.htm
When an application is assigned to a user, I do not think there is a way for Okta to create a JIRA ticket, however if that is possible it could be done through Workflows, please see doc here for more info on Workflows:
https://www.okta.com/platform/workflows/
For you additional questions
There are many applications that can be created manually, there are a lot of custom applications that can be integrated with Okta, providing a full list of this is not feasible.
Most applications give you the possibility to change the name, logo. For custom apps you can add the main login URL, however this might not be the case for all applications from the Catalogue.
Hope this answers your questions.
