Office Documents Hosted internally with Passwords

Hi all, just getting to grips with Okta. We have some office docs (not hosted in O365) which have passwords attached to them. What's the best solution to have OKTA at least provide a password to the user via the portal to copy/paste into document?

    Hi @LaurenceB.59659 (Customer),

Thank you for posting on the Okta community page!

I have done some research but unfortunately it seems that there isn't a way in which you could have Okta provide a password to the user via the portal. When you are creating an Okta user, you have the capability to create the user's password instead of having them create their own. Also, you have the capability to provide a temporary password to the user but at the first login, they will be asked to create a new password.

If you would like to see such functionality, I would recommend to submit a feature request. The best way to file a feature request would be from the community site.

Once feature requests are submitted they are visible to other Okta admins, who can vote on them to provide more visibility. Using this method will allow you to maintain visibility on your feature requests throughout the process.
