The simplest way I think about ADAPTIVE MFA is that it is a design that allows you to pick and choose MFA that suites the needs of each app in your Okta tenant. It allows for step up authentication when needed as well. Step up authentication is when you have a user that accesses multiple apps with different MFA requirements. I
