User activation after CSV import

Hi. just a quick question hopefully some one can answer quickly. After I import my users from a CSV file will they be sent an activation email right away? Also, what about provisioning through an app? Once the users are imported and assigned will they get sent an activation email?

    Hi James Lango ,

    While you import the user there is an option called automatically activate new users , at that time itself the user will get the activation email. Even if you didn't activated the user at this point , the user will be in staged mode .To activate a staged user : People > More Actions > Activate ( From their also user will get an activation email)

    • When users are imported to Okta from AD then there is an option in provisioning to send activation emails to users. If users are imported through applications ,next time the user login to apps they will redirect to the okta's sign in page subsequently through the app's mfa policies.

      Thanks Jijo, so there's no option just to import with no email alert? I don't want an email to be sent out to my users quite yet...
