pgtlu (pgtlu) asked a question.

MFA, Okta Verify not working on embedded widget!

I am trying to get okta verify to work with my embedded okta widget. The widget will allow a user to sign in if assigned, but when I try to use okta very for MFA, nothing changes.

The widget shows up just fine and allows the user to sign in:

This is how I have my JS set up. It has a little tweaking to work with my intended flow, but still works fine.

I have okta verify set up as an authenticator:

I have authentication policy rules set up and the specific app assigned to the policy, and the sign on user authentication assigned to the same policy:

I have rebuilt this app several times and keep running anytime the same problem no matter how I change the configuration. Any helps, tips, or tricks would be a great help. Thank You.

Hello @pgtlu (pgtlu) Thank you for reacting out to our Community!

The culprit at hand here is not the application/widget, but rather the Sign On policy. Please see that there is a note there "Authenticator that may satisfy multiple factor requirements", in essence this means that the Password is considered as a multifactor and will satisfy both requirements in the policy you created.

Please further look at your doc about OIE Sign on Policy's:

When I make this change. I am no longer able to sign in at all or get okta verify to show up. I just get stuck with a spinning wheel when I enter my credentials. I have read some about this potentially being a chrome bug, but I have the same problem in Edge.
