Is there a way to see the SAML Response payload in the logs?

Is there a way to see the SAML Response payload in the logs? I would like to be able to see all the Assertions and Attributes that are sent by Okta to the forwarding application. Is this possible? You can see this payload in logs on a Ping server.

Hi Ted. You cannot see this. Okta does not provide this information in the logs. I would love to be wrong, however, but I have never seen this anywhere, nor a reference to be able to "turn it on."

You can see this in the “Inspect” for a page, but it takes a bunch of coordination and you have to know what you are looking for.

In lieu of doing that, just install SAML-tracer (for Chrome and Firefox). Launch it before clicking on a title, and you will see everything you ever wanted, and more.

    • I have SAML-tracer and can see this when I perform the login however I want to see our customer login so I can use this to help troubleshoot.

Of course, if the SAML assertion is encrypted, you will not be able to see much. So, in that case, you will have to temporairly disable encryption.
