Hello Team,
Good day. I'm trying to configure a rule that would get a boolean result via an app specific attribute e.g. Workday in this screenshot example.
According to the Okta Expression language guide, I can explicitly use the app variable name and the attribute but I keep getting the unsupported expression construct error message. I even tried appending the "_app" to the appname_app.attribute syntax.
Am I missing something? Thanks, cheers.
Best regards,
John

Hi @JohnO.03472 (Customer) , Thank you for reaching out to the Okta Community!
Your syntax is technically correct, unfortunately the Group Rules feature does not support the use of App Profile attributes (please see "Constraints" section under the Groups Rules docs). This Expression language functionality is currently reserved for other things like attribute mappings.
That being said, I can definitely see the value in having such functionality.
I recommend suggesting this on the Okta Community page by going to the Community→ Ideas tab. Features suggested in our community are reviewed and can be voted and commented on by other members. High popularity will increase the likelihood of it being picked up by the Product Team and it being implemented.
Hope this clarifies things!
Hi Mihai,
Thanks for replying so quickly mate I appreciate it. No worries, I'll read more into it and maybe think up of another idea. Thanks again. Cheers.
Best regards,
John
