We would like to have our helpdesk verify identity by using challenge questions that our users supply. Something like the banks currently use. Is this something that is possible, if so, how do we configure that? I've been looking or KBs on this and am not sure what to look for.

Unfortunately at this time, admins do not have access to the answer that users use for their security question. With that being said, there is no way to have this setup.
As a workaround would be to use a custom attribute and have them setup something similar, please see:

I would advise you to also submit an Idea on this request so that this may be taken in consideration for implementation in the future.
