User activation and default password settings

My company is using workday as a source of truth and I am wondering if it is possible to activate users without sending them an activation email for them to set a password or if we can set a default password for everyone. We don't really need to send an activation email because they are authenticating through a different identity provider. We have already tried the auto-confirm, and auto-activate settings in the provisioning tab for workday and that still sends out an activation email to every user. We are trying to avoid the user having to set the password and credentials that they don't need

  • Hello @MatthewW.69352 (Customer)

I hope you are having a great day

Thank you for posting. the solution would be to use Delegated Authentication so that your users authenticate to Okta with their AD credentials.

If that option is enabled on your org, you can import and activate any AD users you need to, enable the "Don't send new user activation emails for this domain" option under Directory -> Directory Integrations -> <your AD domain> -> Settings and simply have your users log in to Okta once they've been activated.

This should lead to them being able to sign in using their AD credentials (without having to go through the email activation flow) and, if you have MFA enrollment configured on your org, them being prompted to set up a second factor.

    Have a great day ahead

    Regards

Thanks for the response. I know that you can do this for things like AD, but does it also apply to identity providers like Azure?
