Hello, the team here tells me that IDP-initiated authentications update the last login date within Okta, but that SP-initiated authentications do not. Is there a way to configure Okta so that both types of authentications update the last login?

Hello @k0vce (k0vce)
I hope you are having a great day
Thank you for posting, if this implementation is needed to get reports then this type of implementation can be done in 2 ways:
1. Using a 3rd party SIEM integration that pulls all the logs from Okta and have capabilities of filtering by event and running reports based on the logs it got.
2. Building upon the Logs API and creating your own script that filter and collect only the data from the logs that relates to authentications. But these 2 methods we came up with are only to help you out in further solving this issue. if you need further assistance then you can reach our Professional Services Team using the following link: https://www.okta.com/professional-services-for-your-business/
I hope this helps !
Have a great day ahead

Henry, I appreciate your prompt reply. I'm just getting started on this topic, and I understand that there are ways that log analysis can determine the last login date. However, it seems to me that IDP-initiated logins already update the last login date, and that's a useful product feature. I'm curious why SP-initiated logins do not update the last login date, since both approaches are simply users authenticating via Okta.
