SamanthaE.89522 (Customer) asked a question.

to log in to Salesforce with the same administrator username and password-token used for User Management settings in Okta.

So i have integrated SF app and in the application format i have used a custom one i.e. "okta996@dev-xxxxxx09.okta.com" so now i not able to login to SF. i am confused with which account do i need to login into that ? and for password-token i have created a token in the security->API. but still i am not able to login. can anyone help me on this one ?

  • Hello Thomas Barnes,

    Thanks for posting.

Make sure you follow the steps found here: https://saml-doc.okta.com/Provisioning_Docs/Salesforce_Provisioning and to append the token Salesforce provided to you to your password, no spaces or other characters as in : passwordXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,

where XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is the API Token.

Once you create the token, you can begin using it, supplying it in the Authorization header of calls to Okta API endpoints. See Create a user by API for an easy way to explore making calls to Okta using the Okta APIs.

If you have any more questions or need any assistance feel free to open a support case.

Let us know if this helps you.
