Self Service Password Resets

We are trying to document some of the processes for our clients and updating the email templates accordingly for those actions.

When going thru the Self Service Password Reset option I always get the:

'At this time your password can only be reset by an administrator.' message in the email body suggesting I have that option turned off.

However, if I look at my Default Rule under my Authentication password policies I see these options selected:

Exclude Users No

Location Anywhere

Change Password Yes

Self-Service Password Reset Yes

Self-Service Account Unlock No

Which to me suggests that Self Service Password Reset can happen. This is also what your help pages suggest for a setup to allow users to do self service password resets.

Am I missing a step in my setup?

So, I believe the problem for us was users that were created/verified prior to setting up the Self Service Password Reset. Because of that those users did not have a security answer. Luckily for us we hadn't gone live yet so it wasn't a problem going forward.

    Hi Ryan Jacobson ,

Please verify if there are any other rules configured for the users under authentication policy.

Default rule applies only, if there aren't any rules configured for the users. Kindly verify the rule precedence

Correct - the Default Rule is the only rule applied. I haven't created additional rules.

Folks, we have the same issue. We have a policy with the exact same settings but we're still getting the same "an admin must reset it for you" error message. Has anyone figured out what the fix is?
