Hello!!!
We have been trying to integrate okta with jira through the API for a few days but we get the following error:
The user has sufficient permissions and we have Atlassian Access, the connection is correct but for some unknown reason it gives us an error.
Apart from the error, what we want to know and can't find anywhere is:
- OKTA properties that are synced with JIRA, are they displayed in JIRA? That is, just as in Okta there are users and their properties, in Jira we have users and their properties. Does this happen in both directions?
If I have in Oka that Eva is from the QUALITY department, in Jira will I see that Eva is from the QUALITY department?
I hope I have explained
We wanted to do a pilot because we are evaluating OKTA.
thank you.

Hello EVA FERNANDEZ,
Thanks for posting.
This document explains the Okta Jira Authenticator 3.x Configuration Guide:
https://saml-doc.okta.com/Provisioning_Docs/Okta_Jira_Authenticator_Configuration_Guide.html
Regarding the error "The username or property query parameter must be provided" I checked on Atlassian's documentation since the issue comes from their side:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/User-Searches-Using-the-REST-API/qaq-p/791436
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/JIRA-REST-API-quot-The-username-query-parameter-was-not-provided/qaq-p/1382440
If you just want to pass parameters from Okta to Jira like Manager and Department it will be necessary to use a 3rd party app in between, as Jira is not so flexible on this matter.
Let us know if this helps you.
Daniela Chavarria.
Okta Inc.
thank!!!!
