1d86e (1d86e) asked a question.

Application Logo Size appears small

So I decided it would be nice to have more branding on some of our internal apps by using icons with tag names on them to indicate which instance they point to. For Example, Development, Staging, Production (in different color)

However, when I upload the potential icons, they are showing so small vertically squeezed I can't read any text. I've tried starting with smaller logos around 400 in width, and I've tried much larger ones it it always happens. It is odd because third party services like Zoom and docusign come in a beautiful readable size.

My hope was to make these icons discernible by the human eye in the okta app center, or via the Okta Browser plugin, as it stands, you still don't have a good way to tell the app instances apart.

  • Hello @1d86e (1d86e),

At this point, there is no other way to customize the chiclet's icon size. The only requirements are:

    • Must be PNG, JPG, or GIF
    • Can't exceed 1400px by 400px
    • Less than 100k

     And for best results :

    • Use an image that is less than 104px by 37px to prevent scaling
    • Use a .png with a transparent background

If you would like a method to maximize the icon so that it can fit the entire tile then the best route to pursue this is via a feature request. The best way to file feature requests would be from the community site. I have outlined the steps below. To Create a Feature Requests:

    • Go to support.okta.com
    • Click on "Go to Ideas" in the center of the screen where it says Submit an Idea
    • Go to the upper right side of the screen and click on "Post Idea".
    • Add the Title, Description and the related category and then click on "Post".
    • Once feature requests are submitted they are visible to other Okta admins, who can vote on them to provide more visibility. Using this method will allow you to maintain visibility on your feature requests throughout the process.

    Regards,

@Tim Western (Customer) I have the same problem with in-house logos. Our graphics department offered to give it a go, and I will update you - hopefully, I have a solution!

Any updates? We have the same issue

At the time of writing, it seems that an image with dimensions that are a multiple of 116 px x 40 px will produce the best result.
