SeanB.15001 (Customer) asked a question.

Using Okta MFA for end user workstation logins?

I've been looking at the options for using Okta on our RDP and SSH sessions to our servers, however I was curious if there's any solution to use Okta for the local logins to actual workstations such as laptops and desktops including the MFA prompts?

Thanks!

    Thank you Natalia,

I've seen the options for RDP session, my question was about weather there's an option to have this feature used when not using RDP, like directly signing into a workstation locally

I am looking for this same information.

Does Okta offer an MFA solution for local logins on network attached desktops?

While the documentation at the above link mentions workstations and servers, the agent appears to only be supported on servers and there is not mention about direct/local access to the servers being supported by MFA in those instances.

    Can you clear this up?

From personal experience, Okta doesn't provide that direct capability on either Windows or Mac devices. The closest thing would be to bootstrap people using Okta MFA for enrolling in Windows Hello for Business, or using one of their partners that provide that capability (Home - Tecnics). There are other solutions, like JAMF, that can also integrate with Okta in different ways. Options exist, but so far, not directly from Okta themselves.
