SystemPrincipal ??

Been looking through System Logs

Is there an explanation somewhere of what is the Okta System (SystemPrincipal) ??

is this the okta service itself ?

once/twice a day we see in our logs:

Actor : Okta System (SystemPrincipal)

Event Info : Client rate limit violation SUCCESS

Targets : Portal Login (PublicClientApp)

If the above is the Okta service why does it need to report this info to us and why would it be a rate violation if it only happens once/twice a day ?

Is this something we need to be concerned about ?

System principle is okta service, actually it's an action taken by okta.
If you are seeing a client based RL violation log for System principle. It's because your users has violated per min request. Which okta is just informing you via logs.

Also if you have further questions please open a support ticket to fully see why RL is violated by navigating through the logs
