8al43 (8al43) asked a question.

Can't import Yubikey seed file.

I followed the Okta and Yubico documentations to generate the CSV, so far so good.

I've activated a brand-new YubiKey 5 using the YubiKey Personalization Tool , received the CSV, but when I try to import it into Okta --> Security --> Multifactor --> YubiKey I just get an error message as follows.

No new YubiKey seed added to database

Seeds are either duplicates or not applicable.

I checked the troubleshooting steps and I used slot 1, generated the three codes and wrote the configuration.

What could be the issue? I don't see anything in the system logs.

    Ciprian from Okta here,

I would suggest is to change the Settings in your YubiKey Personalization Tool when you are generating the Yubico OTP file.

The format is not correct, so that is why Okta is not taking the file.

    Next Steps:

    1) Open you YubiKey Personalization Tool -> Go To Settings->Logging Settings

    2) Make sure the Log configuration output is Checked and change the Logging Settings to "Yubico Format".

    3) Click the Update Settings button.

    4) Make sure you have the YubiKey the USB slot as well.

Here is the documentation that points out how to configure the Yubikeys.

      Hi Ciprian!

I am having the same issue.. please can you advise what changes you made in the YubiKey Personalization Tool in regards to "format"? Was this on MAC OS X? Is the output file following your changes a .csv?

      Thanks!

    Dear Ciprian,

I had indeed overlooked the Yubico format option.

Many thanks for the reply, it works now.

    Kind regards,

    Alex
