Have Okta enable-remotemailbox at time of AD account provisioning

Hello

We are in "hybrid" mode for our Exchange. We had Okta consulting setup on-prem AD account provisioning from our HR system. We would now like to also do the equivalent of powershell "enable-remotemailbox" so the accounts are setup with local Exchange attributes in local AD but will get a o365 mailbox when synced to o365 by AD connect. Is this possible or documented somewhere or is this a consulting only type thing?

  • This is Robert from Okta support.

    I'm not sure where Okta comes in on what you are trying to achieve. This sounds more like something between AD and Azure than AD and Okta, and unless the solution the problem is for Okta to update a specific attribute on the AD side with a value, I'm not sure how we can help.

     

    Therefore I recommend discussing this matter with the Microsoft support team.

    In case I misunderstood the use-case, and indeed this is something achievable from the Okta side, please open a support ticket with us on the Okta portal so we can have a better look over the issue.
