Okta integration with SuccessFactors

We are currently exploring using the Okta integration with SuccessFactors to automate our onboarding process. I have a few questions around the process.

  • If the employee entered into SuccessFactors does not have a company email address, will this process still work?
  • Given the above question, once the email address is updated, how long before Okta picks it up? Is it push or polled?
  • How are passwords delivered?
  • With self provisioning, how does Okta challenge the user for verification? Just the email confirmation?

    Hi Chad,

Thank you for posting your question in Okta Help Center.

    To answer your questions,

    1. You can import users from Successfactors to Okta with a non-company email address.
    2. You can decide the time period between running imports from Successfactors after you turn on API integration (provisioning --> To Okta --> Scheduled Import) or you can trigger a manual import as well from the import tab.
    3. Passwords are not synced from Successfactors to Okta. Users will have to create a new password when activating their account in Okta.
    4. You can have email confirmation where users will be asked to set an Okta password and then you can have them enroll in any other multifactor services that can be configured in Okta. For more information on factor enrollment, please refer to the following documentation: https://help.okta.com/en/prod/Content/Topics/Security/policies/configure-mfa-policies.htm

Please let us know if you have any follow-up questions.

    Thanks,
