Google as identity provider for OKTA login

Hello,

I am trying to setup a social login flow in OKTA using Google as identity provider. Beside the user profile attributes that are already mapped (first name, last name, email etc), I would also like to get the country code for the Google user. Is that possible? Do you know what is the name of the Google attribute, so I can add it to the mapping in OKTA?

  • Hi Irina,

This is Bogdan Albu from Okta Support Tier 2.

I am afraid I don't recall the exact name of the specific attribute you are trying to add, but I would highly recommend trying to add a new attribute for the Identity Provider, and try to bring the coutry code from the Google Schema and then map it to an Okta attribute.

    1. In the Admin Console, go to Directory > Profile Editor.
    2. Click Identity Providers in the Filters list.
    3. For the Identity Provider that you want to modify, click Profile.
    4. Click Add Attribute.
    5. Select attributes in the Pick Schema Attributes dialog, and click Save.

If you have any questions or if you encounter any difficulties, I would highly recommend opening an Okta Support Case.

    Thank You,

    Bogdan Albu
