API to reference imported users who aren't confirmed/assigned/created yet
We have users who are showing up on the import tab as "imported users need review" . We want to auto confirm some of the users, based on specific attribute, and no one else. Turning on auto create for all new users isn't an option we can take yet.
After each incremental import we can see hundreds of these accounts triggering a Workflow that is driven by New User Create. The event Type is is user.lifecycle.create and there's always a displayName value, so it seems these imported but not confirmed/created users have data in OKTA sitting somewhere.
Has anyone else run into this ?
Liviu with the Okta support team here. In these type of scenarios, I would greatly recommend opening a support ticket with our team so that we can have a look at the behavior that you're experiencing.
The behavior can only be triggered when creating the user account in Okta, either manually or by using the auto-confirm feature. If there's already an existing account in the Okta side, there should not be a user.lifecycle.create event, but instead will be user.lifecycle.update.
thank you for answering and bringing clarity to how the event ids would change. I opened a ticket and received my answer. There are no public APIs for imported users who are not confirmed/created yet
