AshwiniM.34323 (Customer) asked a question.

Why do I get logged into okta console, once I login to any app that uses okta?

We have seen that if a user logs in to a web app that uses okta, okta console gets automatically logged-in as that user. This is mostly seen when we use IDP based login. But we have seen this happening with usual username-password based logins too.

We want to turn this off because we often impersonate users in our apps. But we do not want any of this to affect okta console login. Today it gets changed with each app user we try to impersonate.

to log into an app you have to first log into okta. If it’s happening automatically you have dsso or adsso enabled and its working as it should

    Hi @ydce6 (ydce6) ,

Apologies for late reply. We do not have AD SSO set up as yet. Is there a way to force login to okta console? So that app user and okta console user could be different?
